It is all here, whenever you are ready

Thank you for joining us. Below you will find the walkthrough video, the companion workbook, and the slides. There is no order to follow and nothing to finish.

Jim walks through the five pillars. Around 30 minutes, and you can stop and come back to it whenever you like.

The workbook is where the questions live. The slides are simply the video in reading form, in case you would rather go through it at your own pace.

Three things worth keeping in mind

Jim mentions these early in the video. They are worth having in hand before you start.

Nothing here needs fixing

So much of what we come across tells us we cannot truly exist unless we become something different. This is the opposite of that. It is recognizing characteristics that have been there all along, and then deciding whether they still serve you as well in this phase of life.

Listen in two ways at once

The expected one is noticing where something seems off and might want a little attention. The second is the one most of us skip: noticing where you are already strong. Many of us have built up one or two of these pillars over decades without ever calling them by a name, and so we never give ourselves the credit.

Then there is the question of balance

The proportion among the five shifts as circumstances change. A balance that fit beautifully at 50 may be ready for a little rebalancing now. Think of it as moving something from the counter into a drawer. Nothing is discarded, other parts of your life have simply become more important.

The five pillars

Together they make a rough roadmap for a whole self. They apply at any age. What changes is when we start to notice them.

  • 01 Identity Who you are, underneath what you used to do.
  • 02 Mind Free, at last, to follow what truly interests you.
  • 03 Body The steady companion that has carried you this far.
  • 04 Curiosity Still with you, waiting for a little room to return.
  • 05 Contribution All you have learned, and where it might go next.

The Living Alive! Community

If you would like a little company with all this, that is what the community is for. A small circle of people in the same chapter of life, sitting with the same questions. No distractions like a social media group, and no grand promises. Whenever you are ready, you are welcome.

Join the community

If something caught your attention as you went through this, whether a pillar that has been underappreciated or one already in better shape than you expected, I want you to know that noticing it is the real work. Most people never slow down long enough to look.

Nothing needs fixing today. You only need to notice, and to wonder whether the arrangement still fits the life you are living now.
